  1. Copy of your valid passport and all prior Japan entry stamps in it.
  2. A certificate from a recognized exam (ex: JLPT N5, NAT-TEST Level 5) or a pass result from a formal school assessment/interview. For non-university graduates, evidence of study hours alone is no longer sufficient to meet immigration requirements.
  3. A high-quality photo of yourself in front of a white background, passport style, not older than 3 months.
  4. A copy of your last school degree. If you are still in school, include your graduation letter or proof of enrollment.
  5. Recent bank statement from yourself or your financial sponsor. It should show at least 1,200,000 JPY. Some schools may ask for a higher amount.
  6. Copy of business registration certificate if your sponsor is self-employed.
  7. The most recent tax declaration document from you or your financial sponsor as proof of annual income.

Expect an interview! Even if you have a JLPT certificate, many schools now use formal assessments as a standard part of their process. Practice your basic self-introduction and "why Japan" answers early.

Extra documents (depending on school and applicant):

Who can sponsor your student visa application?

Une aide et un accompagnement au top, et ce gratuitement ! Honnêtement, je ne sais même pas quoi dire tant je suis reconnaissant. J'ai contacté Go! Go! Nihon lorsque partir étudier au Japon n'était qu'une ébauche de projet, et ensemble, on a pu en faire une réalité. Aujourd'hui, cela fait à peu près un mois et demi que j'ai commencé mes cours au Japon, alors que ça me semblait être un rêve irréalisable au début. Just booked my SECOND trip with Go! Go! Nihon, so I think that says everything 😂 Seriously though, this experience exceeded my expectations. I made lifelong friends from all over the world, experienced so much personal growth, and fell even more in love with Japan. What I appreciated most was the balance. There was enough structure and group activities that I never felt completely alone or overwhelmed, but also enough independent time where I truly felt like I was solo traveling and discovering Japan at my own pace. This study trip was an amazing experience that I will recommend to anyone even slightly interested in going to Japan! The coursework can feel intense, but you make great progress in such a short amount of time! I enjoyed every activity Go! GO! Nihon and even go a few souveniers I made myself! You get what you put into the program, so your experience really is up to you! It's going to be a crazy 3 weeks, but you will be able to learn the language, gain a deeper understanding of the Japanese culture, and meet amaxing people from all over the world. 10/10 would recommend!

I’ve been studying at a language school in Japan for about three weeks now. I’d like to thank everyone who helped make my dream come true. The language learning is intense because everyone speaks to you only in Japanese, but that’s actually a plus. At the school itself, there are a couple of staff members who can help in English if needed, or senpai who have been studying here for several years. I live in a dormitory; the conditions are good, and people everywhere are friendly and willing to help you. I am grateful once again for all the help with documents, questions, and solving problems that arose during the process. Everyone communicated with me in a friendly manner, and I had only positive feelings about the experience.
