Go! Go! Nihon is free to students because the Japanese language schools are the ones who pay us. We’re hired by our partner schools to help them reach international students, so you get full support with your application, visa, and move to Japan at no extra cost. You never pay more by going through us than you would by applying directly, and we only partner with schools that pass our regular quality checks.
Why is the service free?
Language schools in Japan want to reach students overseas, but building an international recruitment team is expensive and difficult to do well. This is where Go! Go! Nihon comes in. Schools pay us to help them reach international audiences; we promote them at conventions and webinars, making videos showcasing their school, and also help students enroll in seven different languages. We provide support to incoming students both before and after their arrival in Japan, completely free of charge to our students.
This means that our revenue comes from the school side of the relationship. Students pay nothing to use our service.
Some common questions
If a service is free, it makes sense to wonder if there’s a catch. Here are some questions we hear often.
- Do I pay more tuition by going through Go! Go! Nihon?
No. You pay the same tuition as any student who applies directly on their own. Schools set one price, and that price doesn’t change based on how you enrolled.
- Do you recommend schools that pay you more?
No. Our recommendations are based on what’s best for you: your goals, budget, location preferences, and course type. While we can’t offer support with schools who aren’t our partners, we treat all of our partner schools equally and we do not favor certain schools. Our recommendations are not based on commission and a school’s willingness to pay for a partnership isn’t part of how we advise students.
- Why not just apply to the school directly?
You can, but you’d be doing the entire process alone: comparing schools, preparing application documents, navigating the student visa, and figuring out housing and logistics once you land. Going through Go! Go! Nihon gets you that same enrollment — plus a support system — at no added cost.
- How do you choose which schools to partner with?
At Go! Go! Nihon, we choose the schools we partner with through an ongoing quality control process. We visit the schools and we speak directly with current and former students about their time at the school in order to make sure that the schools continue to meet our high quality standards.
What is Go! Go! Nihon’s quality control process?
We don’t partner with every school that wants to work with us. Each partner school goes through the following:
- Regular in-person visits. Our team visits partner schools regularly to see facilities, meet staff, and check that standards haven’t slipped.
- Direct student feedback. We talk to current and former students about their actual experience, not just what the school tells us.
- Ongoing evaluation. We make sure that the schools we partner with maintain their high quality standards that led to our partnership in the first place.
It is important to us that we only partner with language schools that we are satisfied to promote. A school cannot just pay us to promote them — they need to pass our quality control process in order to be considered.
