ILA is the 7th oldest Japanese Language School in Japan and the oldest in Kobe City. ILA is a Japanese language school with tradition and achievements and has a reliable educational curriculum that meets diverse needs.
ILA won the “Best Practice School Award” in the online lessons by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. For everyone’s needs, staff incredibly supports in regards to study and elective choices. ILA provides above-and-beyond support in regard to employment. Specific counseling is offered to the students even after their language studies.
Higher education prep and support available
As a former professor, the principal has ensured that many students have successfully pursued further education in Japan.
Part-time and full-time job support available
The Business Class is a Nisshinkyo-approved program that covers communication skills and manners essential for working in Japan. Students seeking employment are supported by dedicated staff holding an MBA and Employment Placement Permit.
Elective classes available
Long-term students have a variety of elective classes to choose from, including but not limited to: kanji, EJU prep, and conversation.

Preparation for Higher Education or Business
This course includes classes for learning foundational language skills, and at the higher levels, the course can be tailored to the student's future goal, whether pursuing higher education or employment.

Many class levels are available in both the mornings and afternoons. Students have high flexibility in choosing their class schedule.

JLPT prep elective classes
These classes will prepare you for levels N2 and N1 of the JLPT. You will have the opportunity to try lots of practice tests to get ready for the real thing.
Higher education prep elective class
Prepare for higher education with EJU practice problems or forming a research plan.
Conversation class
You'll increase your verbal skills and practice and have the chance to practice natural conversation with native speakers.
Business class
This class will help you gain knowledge of Japanese society and business etiquette, plus practice for job interviews.
Japanese movie analysis class
You will experience Japanese culture, and learn about Japanese society in class and through activities with local Japanese high school students.

The focus will be on basic grammar, kanji, and vocabulary, plus focus on everyday conversation. Main textbooks: Minna no Nihongo, and others
INTERMEDIATE - 9 MONTHS
The focus will be on Intermediate sentence patterns, vocabulary, kanji, and grammar, plus a focus on natural conversation. Main textbooks: A New Approach to Japanese, and others
ADVANCED - 8 MONTHS
The focus will be on vocabulary, Kanji, and final grammar, plus focus on the JLPT test or EJU measures. Main textbooks: Advanced Japanese, and others
