Location

Our school is located in Sapporo.

SAPPORO – Sapporo is the 4th largest city in Japan and is famous for the annual Sapporo Snow Festival, which attracts over 2 million tourists from all over the world. The city is also famous for seafood, ramen, and, of course, Sapporo beer! Being one of Japan’s newest cities by Japanese standards it lacks a lot of traditional architecture like Kyoto; however, it more than makes up for it with a ton of things that you can only find in Sapporo! Hokkaido’s untamed wilderness and national parks make up the majority of Japan’s largest prefecture. Due to its Northern location, you can escape Japan’s dreaded muggy summers and rainy season and enjoy a long winter ski season. If you enjoy a modern city in the middle of beautiful untouched nature, Hokkaido’s the place to be.

COURSE DETAILS

Term breakdown

The beginner course focuses on essential grammar, vocabulary, and sentence patterns through practical, everyday situations. Lessons emphasize speaking skills, using listening and repetition to help students complete specific tasks with confidence. The course builds a strong foundation for life in Japan, aiming for a level equivalent to JLPT N5.

Building on the foundation from the beginner course, the intermediate level focuses on expanding vocabulary, improving grammar accuracy, and strengthening conversational skills. Class time includes group discussions and presentations, allowing students to express and organize their thoughts on a variety of topics. Reading, writing, and kanji will be covered on top of the main curriculum to ensure students develop well-rounded skills. The target level for this stage is JLPT N3, and students gain more confidence using Japanese in a broader range of real-life and social situations.

At the advanced level, the focus shifts to more complex communication and abstract topics, targeting JLPT N2 to N1. Lessons are adapted to student needs and may include discussions, presentations, and real-world materials to develop fluency and precision.
