Naganuma offers students the best of both worlds: the energy of one of Tokyo’s most iconic neighborhoods, Shibuya, and the calm of a campus-like setting.

Shibuya is known for its famous scramble crossing, trendsetting fashion, and endless entertainment, making it one of the most exciting places to live and study in Japan. The school spans three buildings and features a peaceful, tree-lined walkway leading from a traditional gate. With excellent train and bus connections, students can easily commute from anywhere in Tokyo.

Whether studying in a quiet corner of the campus, relaxing in a nearby café, or exploring local izakaya and pop culture spots, students at Naganuma enjoy a vibrant and balanced experience both in and out of the classroom.

Our Japanese Courses

Naganuma School

Japanese for Interactive Communication

This course develops students’ ability to use Japanese naturally in daily life and social discussions. It is ideal for those who want to strengthen their communication skills while also deepening their understanding of Japanese culture through language.

Lessons follow the original Naganuma Method, which emphasizes listening and repeated practice. Students first get used to the sounds of Japanese, then gradually build confidence through a structured Q&A approach, moving from simple yes/no answers to more complex questions. This helps learners acquire new sentence patterns and vocabulary without relying on translation from their native language.

With small class sizes, students receive personalized attention and have regular opportunities to practice speaking. The course is designed to support smoother, more confident communication in real-life situations.
