If you want to tackle this in Japanese, you will need to know a few specific words in order to successfully rent an apartment in Japan.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Helpful vocabulary<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Real estate company<\/strong> &#8211; \u4e0d\u52d5\u7523\u4f1a\u793e, <em>fudousangaisha<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Real estate agent<\/strong> &#8211; \u4e0d\u52d5\u7523\u5c4b, <em>fudousanya<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tenant<\/strong> &#8211; \u501f\u5bb6\u4eba, <em>shakuyanin<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monthly rent<\/strong> &#8211; \u5bb6\u8cc3, <em>yachin<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deposit<\/strong> &#8211; \u6577\u91d1, <em>shikikin<\/em>, or \u4fdd\u8a3c\u91d1, <em>hoshoukin<br \/><\/em>*Normally the equivalent of about 1-2 months\u2019 rent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guarantor<\/strong> &#8211; \u4fdd\u8a3c\u4eba, <em>hoshounin<br \/><\/em>*This is a person that promises to cover your rent or damages in case you can\u2019t pay or suddenly leave the country.
