<\/p>\nWhile living and studying in Japan, you may need to make a bank transfer from your Japanese bank account. If you\u2019ve never done this before, or if you feel your Japanese language skills aren\u2019t quite up to the task, then don\u2019t worry! It\u2019s not actually that complicated and we\u2019re here to help walk you through the steps.<\/p>\n

The most convenient way to transfer money is through an online bank account. If you\u2019re in Japan studying long-term, we recommend opening a bank account<\/a> to make life easier while you\u2019re here, especially if you want to work part-time<\/a> while studying.<\/p>\n To make a transfer through online banking:<\/p>\n Not all banks offer an online banking service unfortunately, so if this happens to be the case with your bank, then you can try visiting the bank in person, or make a transfer through an ATM.<\/p>\n Make sure you have your bank card and all the recipient\u2019s bank information (as per above).<\/p>\n If you make a mistake, just press the \u8a02\u6b63 teisei <\/i>button, return to the previous screen (\u524d\u306b\u623b\u308b mae ni modoru<\/i>) or cancel the operation by pressing the button \u53d6\u308a\u6d88\u3057 torikeshi<\/i>.<\/p>\n If you don\u2019t have a Japanese bank account you can also make a transfer through an ATM using cash. In the first step, just make sure to choose cash transfer (\u73fe\u91d1 genkin<\/i>)<\/strong> instead of bank transfer. You can do this through the bank, but be prepared to spend a long time filling in forms. You will also have to pay quite high bank fees and you might not get the best exchange rate.<\/p>\n There are other services that offer international bank transfers that are easier<\/strong> and more affordable<\/strong>. These include Wise<\/a>, GoRemit, Western Union, and PayPal.
