What different visa options are available to live & study in Japan?<\/h3>

We mainly assist with these pathways to studying at a language school in Japan.
For long-term study (6 months or longer), the most common visa is the Student Visa, which you can use to study for up to two years. If your country has a Working Holiday Visa agreement with Japan, you may also use that visa to study for up to 18 months.

Are there any age restrictions when applying to a language school in Japan?<\/h3>

Generally, you need to be 18 years old when you arrive in Japan to start school.\u00a0

Note that if you graduated from your last school more than five years prior to applying for language school, the school may require more information and documentation. But don\u2019t worry too much \u2013 we have successfully helped many students of all ages apply to Japanese language schools!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I haven\u2019t studied Japanese before. Can I apply?<\/h3>\nTo get a long-term Japanese Student Visa, prior knowledge of Japanese is required. Immigration requires either a JLPT N5 certificate (or equivalent) or a certificate confirming 150 hours of Japanese language study issued by a school or organization. Having prior knowledge of the language is also a plus when it comes to class placement! You will take a placement test upon arrival, and being familiar with the language may help you be placed into a higher level, saving you time and money.\nYou can reserve a spot at a school and start your application in advance, even while you are still working towards meeting the language requirement.
