Tokyo Seiyu Academy (TSA) is a preeminent vocational college that focuses on voice acting. However, from April 2020 the school will open its Department of International Communication, which will focus on equipping students with effective international communication skills they can carry with them for future work and/or further education.
This department, which is a one of a kind authorised by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, will offer students a multicultural learning environment.
Note that students will not be training to be voice actors in this course.

TSA is located in the central and affluent area of Ebisu. From here, there is easy access to many popular areas of Tokyo including Shibuya, Daikanyama and Roppongi. With its many trendy restaurants, cafes and bars, Ebisu is a popular area for people to gather and socialise.

Students choose between two tracks depending on what they wish to pursue after they graduate: further education or work. There will be classes that must be taken regardless of which track, including: business Japanese, Japanese performing arts, intercultural communication and Japanese interview preparation. However, there will also be a number of elective classes students can take depending on which track they take.
The classroom offers a "mini globe" environment, where students develop global awareness and also learn about Japanese customs. The school places special focus on group projects to help students develop effective communication skills in global work environments.
Following completion of the course, students receive a Senmonshi, which is equivalent to an Associate's Degree.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment and meet all of the following criteria:
Completion of a 12-year education (high school diploma or equivalent) outside of Japan
An emergency contact in Japan
One of the following Japanese proficiency requirements needs to be met:
JLPT N2 or N1 – A score of 200 or higher on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU exam)
A score of 400 or higher on the Business Japanese Proficiency Test
At least 6 months of study and excellent attendance records at a Japanese language school authorized by the Immigration Bureau of Japan, in addition to demonstrated JLPT N2-equivalent proficiency measured through an exam administered by TSA
At least 1 year of study and excellent attendance records at an educational institution in Japan defined by Article 1 of the School Education Act, in addition to demonstrated JLPT N2-equivalent proficiency measured through an exam administered by TSA
An attendance rate of 90% or above (if currently enrolled in a Japanese language school)
