It’s the ideal place to start visiting Tokyo. From the area of Kabukicho (stopping by the Toho Cinema and the giant Godzilla from the hotel roof), have a walk through the old alleys of Omoide Yokocho and then visit Nishi Shinjuku, filled with tall skyscrapers and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (at the 45th floor there is a free observation deck where you can have a beautiful view of the city). For your japanese studies (and more) visit the huge 9 storey bookstore of Kinokuniya in Shinjuku-Dori, and enjoy some open air study in the luxuriant central park of Shinjuku.
