This school is the perfect option for students who wish to live in a smaller city surrounded by nature, but still be able to easily reach places like Tokyo and Osaka. As the campus is shared with a vocational school, students can also interact daily with Japanese students through shared culture festivals.

Since ISI Nagano campus is shared with a vocational school, there are Japanese students around, providing many opportunities to interact with them at school, during extracurricular activities and cultural festivals. After finishing the 2-year Japanese course, students can join the vocational school for a 2-year program. This way, ISI Nagano can offer a comprehensive education of 4 years, optimizing the possibilities offered by Japanese vocational schools.

Even if you’ve never studied Japanese before, that’s not a problem! You can start from scratch at this school.

This course is perfect for students who want to master the language in order to enter higher education. From the intermediate level onwards, students will also get to choose from preparation classes for the university entrance exam or JLPT exam in addition to their basic lessons.

Students will learn daily conversation and use honorific expressions in simple conversation. Students will focus on reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Other Course Features

JLPT PREP ELECTIVE CLASSES

These JLPT classes will prepare you for levels N2 or N1. They will focus on teaching you techniques to pass the test and will focus on the different sections that you will encounter in the test.

HIGHER EDUCATION PREP

This elective class prepares you for the EJU test, which is required for all students aiming to attend university in Japan.

CONVERSATION CLASSES

In this elective class, you’ll practice speaking and listening to increase your overall verbal communication skills.
